Our laboratory, based in the Department of Molecular Biology, Cell Biology and Biochemistry at Brown University, focuses on the biochemical and biophysical underpinnings of DNA transactions essential for the maintenance of genomes and for controlling the flow of genetic information. Our approach combines biochemistry and biophysics with complementary structure determination methods (X-ray crystallography, small-angle X-ray scattering and electron microscopy) with the goal of elucidating the architecture, function, and regulation of protein and protein-nucleic acid complexes.
